Tom holds a MSci degree degree in Chemistry and has two years industrial experience at Ingenza, a leading company in applied Biotechnology. He has worked on various commercial and grant projects, gaining a good understanding of the current challenges and the future of the Bioeconomy. He is currently a first year PhD candidate at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology undertaking a Pfizer sponsored studentship in the Turner-Flitsch group aimed at developing methods for the biocatalytic synthesis of chiral amines. He is particularly interested in scientific enterprise and entrepreneurship that aims to reduce human impact on the environment. Outside of work, he enjoys music and traveling.
