Where are they now?
Gynomics: BaB'25 winners
Consisting of a postgraduate bioinformatics student and an undergraduate biotechnology student, 'Gynomics' came up with a new method of vaginal microbiome screening, analysis and evaluation. They developed, trained and evaluated an AI model on the clinical variables and vaginal metagenomics data from 744 women and proved 100% accuracy, precision, recall and F1-Score in predicting pregnancy outcomes and common complications.
After winning the first-place £15,000 BaB prize, Gynomics continues to develop its idea, and you can now help them launch their product on a wider scale by completing their website survey!

Revine: BaB'25 winners
Adrian Perez Barreto was working on his PhD, where his research focused on bioprinting a complex wound model - until ‘Revine’ was presented in the NWBI's 'BaB' competition: a medical device for wound healing that tackles diabetic limb ulcers using electrostimulation.
After winning the third-place prize, ‘Revine’ sought more investments via MEC, becoming the 2nd prize winner in the healthcare category of the MEC Venture Further Awards!
