February 2024 Round Up

As February draws to a close, the NWBI is thrilled to share some highlights from this month.

Our “Breaking Into STEM” event was held at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology and had over 60 attendees! A huge thank you to everyone who came. It was a great opportunity for individuals to learn directly from professionals working in all different types of industries: healthcare consultancy, pharmaceuticals, biotech and academia. We also had a panel discussion focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (EDI) in STEM and a networking social (with pizza and drinks!) Furthermore, a massive thank you to our speakers from Remap Consulting, Thornton Ross, Waters Corporation and the University of Manchester for your time and wisdom. Lastly, a very special thank you to our sponsors, The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Catalyst (IBIC) - we appreciate the support!

We have also received all the submissions for our “Medical Communications Competition”, which is now closed, and are in the process of reviewing them alongside VMLY&R. Thank you to anyone who entered, we will be in touch soon.

We have some exciting stuff planned at the NWBI for the spring and summer so please keep your notifications on for our social media pages to keep informed!
