NWBI Careers Fair 2025

We’re back with another recap- this time, introducing our first of its kind careers fair held in December. 

This year, we hosted our first ever careers fair, welcoming students and employer representatives from a range of organisations for an afternoon of professional networking and discussion.

The event aimed to provide students with the opportunity to explore career pathways, gain industry insights, and engage directly with employers in an accessible and supportive environment. Throughout the fair, students demonstrated strong interest, asking thoughtful questions about roles, career progression, and organisational culture. Collaborators highlighted the quality of conversations and the level of engagement from attendees, noting that discussions were purposeful and engaging.

The NWBI team would like to thank all the representatives from Remap, Proteintech, QIAGEN, VML, Pebble, Sygnature discovery, Medicine Discovery Catapult, and University of Manchester Innovation Factory for the support and contribution to the success of this event. 

We would like to extend our thanks to Nick Yiannouka, Lewis Hill, Kacper Swierk from Remap and Poppy Nathan from Proteintech for their wonderful talks, Dr. Jean Michel Fustin, Dr. Mato Lagator, and Dr. Deniz Ozbilek and Careers service team for sharing their time and expertise and helped create a valuable experience for our attendees. 

This event would not have been possible without the support of all our collaborators and the university student support hubs, all student participants, and our NWBI organising team. We truly appreciate everyone’s contribution and look forward to future opportunities to work together.
